This original graphite drawing was inspired while this baby mule colt was waiting to be led through a mule show in Lathrop, Missouri. This Quarter Horse Mule was only three weeks old and was standing beside his momma, a Quarter Horse Mare, looking tiny next to her. Buckshot had a lightweight bridle, built especially for colts his size, this was a larger one that his first newborn bridle that was just like a headband, only had a little leather so that he would know what leather smelled like.
Buckshot walked just beside his handler and a bit behind her as you can see he has long thin limbs and small hooves, like that of his daddy, a donkey. He resembles his mom the Quarter Horse in his appearance, color and body shape, but his ears are very long more like the donkey heritage. Prints are also available of Buckshot.
